Some Kind of Fireworks: An Obnoxious Summer Mix by Kelseymac
Because we need another fucking summer mix, right?
No, but aside from the general nausea induced by the above picture (guess how much time I spent in Photoshop with THAT one?), I quite like this mix. It’s all over the board—different genres, sounds, styles, etc.—but that’s how I like my mixes. I like to hear something different with every song.
I threw together a list of a bunch of tunes I’ve been listening to lately and tried to put them in some listenable order. Some are new, some very old, some are obvious, some are not, but all of ‘em are songs that remind me of summer. Maybe they won’t “work for you,” but I’ve been listening to this mix for a few days now and I like it. So…just go with it.

The Arka Teks - I Know You Know

I leave you folks with the song that has been stuck in my head all day and led to me purchasing the damn thing off iTunes.

Refused - Worms Of The Senses / Faculties Of The Skull

The Shape of Punk to Come is one of my absolute favourite albums of the 90s (and of all time). I’ve uploaded the first track from the album, which [in my humble opinion] happens to be one of the best opening tracks for an album out there.

An unbelievably original album for it’s time, it truly did shape the sound of 21st century punk. This truly is an under-appreciated album despite the numerous bands out there who are inspired from and have paid their homage to it.

And to think this was released over 12 years ago, it still blows my mind to this very day.

Rage Against The Machine - Killing In The Name Of

If you’re a resident of the UK and have an iTunes account, do what is right and purchase this song off iTunes this week for Christmas Number 1.

My iTunes Review - “F**k you Cowell I won’t do what you tell me!”:

Here is an exempt from Wikipedia listing previous Christmas Number Ones: 2005 Shayne Ward “That’s My Goal” 2006 Leona Lewis “A Moment Like This” 2007 Leon Jackson “When You Believe” 2008 Alexandra Burke “Hallelujah” Does the nation really want to let X Factor win a fifth year running? Break the cycle! DO what is right and buy this song. Not just because “Killing In The Name Of” is a 90s rock classic but because it’s all about standing up and doing what you think is right. So do the right thing this Christmas and buy this song!

Because Tom asked so nicely yesterday.

That’s my KG! I am sooo buffering this track up right now on my iPhone for the ward to hear.

This Is Just Sad.

whatwhatwhat:

I have entirely too much music.

I’ve spent three hours updating/organizing my iTunes and I’m only halfway through the B’s.

Le sigh.

Trust me, the whole process gets quicker the further along you go.
