Lost Prophets - Wake Up (Make A Move)

From the 2004 album Start Something and a song that used to be my alarm song. I think I’ve seen Lost Prophets about 10 times now, and I still don’t know if they’re two separate words or one long one. I’m too lazy to check, but I will say that this album was excellent and so much fun live. They would play Cry Me A River live, and do more things on the guitar in that then their entire first album. They would be silly. They played Rock Ya Body too, as well as Sweet Dreams My LA EX, and it was essentially just a silly band.

At some point they spent too much time in America and returned with this fake American accent, extreme tans and not really the same stage presence or song writing ability, and started letting Good Charlotte sing on their songs. I know, I know, bands grow up and change or improve sometimes but I can’t help but feel this was their last good album.

Anyway, I absolutely adore this song, and I hope you enjoy it.

Haha, win! I too have seen this band soooo many times live, I saw ‘em live at Leeds last month and he was talking in his Welsh accent then. IN fact, I thoroughly enjoyed their set and it was certainly one of my highlights at the festival. He even referenced the Lil’ Jon and The Eastside Boyz song “Get Low” by saying he wanted to see the crowd go crazy “from the windowwww to the wall!”, with said Eastside Boyz arm gestures and everything. I think I was the only one there who got it tbh.

Sure, their style did change for the worse with the release of Liberation Transmission, but they’re still a great band, especially for Start Something which I believe to be a massively underrated album for the time. At least they still put on a good live show imo.

Oh and it’s all one word.

Day 290.

Shame they wouldn’t play it for the crowd at Reading/Leeds. Radiohead are so up their own arses it’s pathetic.

Which is why I went to see Lostprophets instead, and rocked my socks off.
