Alright, it’s time for my GoldenEye 007 post, i.e. the stuff I’ve been wanting to showcase on Tumblr for the last week or so after reblogging the game’s luscious box art albeit 107 hours late.

Here I present to you folks the pride and joy in my possession that is the first of two copies of GoldenEye 007 for the Nintendo 64. As shown in the second image, you’ll find all four passports have reached 007 status, that is, completing every single mission on 00 Agent difficulty; therefore unlocking a 007 mode allowing you to alter your health, AI response time and their accuracy for each individual mission.

Now some of you would call this pretty sad to say that I’ve devoted so much time to just one game (3 completions for each difficulty difficulty multiplied by 4 passports gives a grand total of 12 completions per cartridge, though the number is a lot higher than that due to numerous repeat playthroughs unaccounted for) and I somewhat see your reasoning that [for some] even the greatest games have their limits.

Thankfully at the opposite end of the morale scale I can quote one individual that this is the ultimate display of masculinity to ever witness. And for that reason alone, this game was worth every spent minute of my childhood, youth and young manhood. It’s just a shame that few women judge one’s masculinity using similar criteria (and to those of you who do, respect).

Enough with the babble, the rest of the photos should do the talking. Only time will tell if I shall hold a second cartridge that parities with the first. If that is ever the case, you know where to find out about it.

automatic loyalty reblog.

Had a more strict code of honor here than in most real life situations when I was 14.

i did everything in this game. i totally beat it, left no secret unturned. it was the last video game i was totally nuts for.

this is the only video game i can still kick a boy’s ass at. i’m always oddjob. and you better set that shit on moonraker laser and paintball mode.

one-hit kills and slappers only. Slayer of friendships.

one hit kills. pistols. see ya in the complex.

Counterpoint to Oddjob: Headshotting the heck out of the lil’ bastard before he can get remotely close to me.
…or just crouching in slappers only.
…or blowing the jerk up with my mines.
Oddjob doesn’t scare me.

i love my friends. i love you all.

timed mines or remote mines?

Depends on if the jerk is chasing you, and how close.

Anyone who knows me knows that this is my number one, hands down, absolute, without a doubt, favorite game of all, all, all, all time. Played it last night, in fact. Never ever going to let you go Goldeneye.
I don’t even need to explain myself when it comes to this game. This game was years ahead of it’s time before the same console FPS experience was matched by the also amazing game TimeSplitters.
Okay, so maybe I’ll be making a Goldeneye N64 obsession/skill related post at some point during the next 24 hours.
