Tom Lawrence

Watched Amélie on Film4 while the rest of the family sadly took their afternoon naps.
I have always found a person’s ignorance towards the need to read subtitles for two hours such a poor excuse for taking no interest in foreign films. Some people just don’t realise how blessed they are to live in an English speaking country where most of the world’s music, TV, film and literature are all in their native tongue.
Makes me wish I had the push to study a second language during my infancy.

I sat down and watched Funny People tonight

153 minutes later and I have deduced that this plot ain’t so good. And it certainly ain’t funny.

Few stills from the filming for you guys.

Check for the full thing soon.

Why is Scarlett Johansson in so many shit films?

She is such wasted talent. Bring back Lost in Translation Scarlett.

Oh God, I watched He’s Just Not That Into You and felt like crying.

I saw the advert on a bus in London and knew instantly that I would never ever watch it.

Sup, Beard. I think its tollerable for one view, if you enjoy films that make you feel worthless, question the sanctity of marriage and perhaps look at every friendship as a missed relationship, every relationship as misunderstood friendship and every other interaction as someone using you or someone who is going to use you, enjoy paranoia and are easily led into poorly chosen situations and infidelity.

Otherwise, yes, you did well to not watch it. Its a shame really - I liked most of the cast but you leave disliking everyone equally and wishing you’d watched Marley and Me. At least the instant depression from that film subsides. The other just poisons your brain.

Unless you’re me… then you get to jive talking and forget all about it.

Thanks for the follow.

Hey, she was in The Island with Ewan McGregor and that was awesome!

We had an inappropriately long discussion about District 9 today in my Science Fiction: British/American Film Studies class. Inappropriately so because only four of us had seen the movie or were capable of talking about it with some semblance of intelligence as to the political, socioeconomic, humanity/value of life, and rights allusions the film incorporates along with the utter re-imagination of the genre in and of itself. Trust me. It wasn’t pretty. Thankfully we moved on pretty quickly from that to the ultimate fight of Sci-Fi vs. Horror which resulted in a screaming match. I won’t saw between who. I may or may not have been involved. Regardless, District 9 comes out in the UK today which means SOMEONE has to go see it so I have someone else to fight discuss about it with. Yes, please, and thank you.
I plan to see it next week, I will make sure this discussion takes place!

One of the best things about being away for the weekend is coming home to find that there’s always loads of stuff to talk about and a horde of things to check on the Internet when you get home. Of all the stuff I’ve seen today (and I’ve been through like, 5 days worth of Internet stuff this afternoon [more on that later, maybe]), this has to be my favourite (although Sam’s flexing is a close second place, gotta love that girl).

My good friend Jonny is up to his creative and crazy antics again on YouTube, his latest video however is a short movie about his passion for Dr. Pepper and how love for his favourite drink can turn sour, but with a twist…

He’s left the ending out and he wants you to watch it and to leave a comment on how you think the short film should end.

If you haven’t seen this guy or any of his other seriously funny shit, go check him out and subscribe, make friends, leave a comment or spam and his account. You know, all that kinda YouTube stuff.

He’s bound to cause you to laugh, oh I don’t know, at least ten times?

Garth: Uh-oh. Don’t look. Stacy.
Wayne: Where? Oh, God. I made eye contact…
Crew: psycho hose beast.
Stacy: Happy anniversary, Wayne.
Wayne: Stacy, we broke up two months ago.
Stacy: It doesn’t mean we can’t go out.
Wayne:Well, it does, actually….That’s what breaking up is.

hahahahaha. <3

I’m sick of hearing about how District 9 redefines the science fiction genre. Just release it in the UK already! Pleeeease?

Better idea. Come to the US and come with me because I am totally going to go see it again. I’m just saying.

A £300 flight and an $8 cinema ticket seems a little too much just to see a movie. Though if I pay a visit to the States and the DVD or Bluray is out by then I’ll be up for watching it! Just saying :-)
