Tom Lawrence

Found this old gem of me from a few years back while cleaning my hard drive.

Blackbird by The Beatles was actually the first full song I ever learnt to play on guitar and one of my all-time favourites (even though I’m cutting it short and playing a few wrong notes back then, I love the days when your first picking up a guitar and you’ll make all sorts of shortcuts in your playing - I was always so desperate to be able to play a full song - they’ll always come back to haunt you).

This also must have been recorded on the PlayStation Eye webcam I got with my copy of Eye of Judgment which is kinda cool, haven’t played that game in some time now.

Made me laugh seeing the puzzled luck on my face half way through and totally killing the song at the end. I have also barely aged from the looks of it [edit: and holy shit, the old wallpaper!]. Good times.

Back to cleaning.

The “Her Majesty” performance was Streeter’s idea.

Bleep Bloop Game of the Year: Beatles Rock Band

Featuring performances by Onion AV Club music critic Andy Battaglia, Streeter, Sarah, Josh, Dan, Kevin, several of our interns, our president, Bleep Bloop director/editor Creighton DeSimone in his first on-screen Bloop-pearence (that’s him rocking the whammy at :37), some editors, and more!

A great choice for a Game Of The Year and it’s nice to see someone pick it. I think few too many people get the opportunity to play as the full three-part harmony band and (unless you can’t tell by this video) it makes an amazing multiplayer experience.

As a big Beatles fan myself, I was close to naming this my GOTY but I just have to give the award to Uncharted 2 - this game just pushes the boundaries in storytelling, character design, level design, gameplay, graphics and sound. For me, it’s the “Ocarina Of Time” of this generation. Now that’s a pretty bold statement for me but really, Uncharted 2 was that good.

For any of you PS3 owners who haven’t played Uncharted 2, I seriously suggest giving it a look. And for any next-gen console owner, it’s The Beatles: Rock Band all the way!

Nothing like starting the day with a great cup of Adagio English Breakfast 180°F brewed tea with my favourite cup and saucer.
This is the most patriotic photograph of any human ever. If you think those “Your country needs you” pics were patriotic, you’ve obviously never seen the one and only, Tom Lawrence.

Haha, now that I look at this photo, it’s unbelievably patriotic. The cup of tea, the Union Jack t-shirt, the Oasis, Beatles and Clash posters in the background representing three iconic British bands from different periods.
What can I say? I love my country, I guess.

BBC2 Has Gone Beatles Crazy

And is showing Beatles stuff (documentaries, movies and other footage - commercial free of course) ‘til about 12:20am.

That along with a curry and some John Smiths sounds like the perfect night in for me.

The Beatles - Here Comes the Sun

An amazing Beatles song, only second to Blackbird. Currently reminds me of the pleasant day I’ve had.
