So I was going to write up two posts on the Nintendo and Sony E3 press conferences except Jonny decided to pay a visit yesterday evening.

Instead, we decided to shoot a video detailing our highlights from this year’s E3 press conferences all under 6 minutes.

Hope you guys enjoy.

If you ever played NES in your lifetime you have GOT to play this game.
It’s a Flash game that allows you to play through the entirety of Super Mario Bros. using a variety of famous NES characters, including Mario himself, Link (from Zelda), Bill Rizer (from Contra), Samus (from Metroid), Simon (from Castlevania), Mega Man and soon to be Ryu Hayabusa (from Ninja Gaiden).
Click the image above to play. Definitely worth 5 minutes of your time.

reblog so i remember that i need this.

So tempting to spend some of my savings for the States this summer on one of these, I have yet to own a DS and there’s finally a few games I’m genuinely interested in playing.
Maybe. We’ll see.

For all the people out there who love Super Mario World on the SNES, speed runs or ROM hacking (or all three) will GREATLY appreciate the work on show in this video.

This is one of the main reasons I love gaming so much: technical feats like this that push one game to it’s ultimate edge. This ROM hack (that is, the modification of a game) is by far the hardest I have ever seen and the actual walkthrough on show (although being a TAS) is just mindblowing.

For someone to create this nightmare of a level is crazy enough, but to attempt to complete it… literally every rule in Super Mario World is broken here and put on show  (people who adore this game and have completed all 96 stages should remember the crazy things you can do).

Anyway, I shall say no more, watch and see for yourself some true gaming skills.

Really awesome AI for a modified version of a Java-based Infinite Mario Bros engine. Apparently it’s for a Mario AI competition so all the best for that, I can imagine this being a winner, though I’ll admit I’m totally unaware of what any other competitor has to offer.
