I mean QOTSA = one of my fave. Dizzee’s fun, Hadouken are exciteable, I’d love to see LCD soundsystem live, and apparently The Midnight Beast are playing so see those guys if you get a chance and want to be smothered by ridiculousness

I saw QOTSA on Lullabies to Paralyze in ‘05 and thought they were awesome. Saw them again in ‘08 and thought they were awful. Hopefully they can prove themselves this year. Dizzee Rascal’s a favourite of mine (Boy In The Corner is a classic album). I’ve given Hadouken a chance before and they’re not my cup of tea I’m afraid, sorry! The Midnight Beast I’m unfamiliar with and will therefore give them a chance and since I’d rather die than watch Guns n’ Roses (or should I say Axl Rose act the complete dick that he is), I can guarantee I’ll be watching LCD Soundsystem. Thanks man :)

Yes Justin, I’ll be seeing Los Campesinos! and thinking of you.

Leeds Festival 2010 is here in only 10 days and like last year I received several recommendations for musicians and bands to see from friends on Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr, some of which I now enjoy listening to on a regular basis.
This year I want to do the same by asking my followers for advice on who they would see if they happened to be in my shoes that very weekend. From what I can tell, you all seem to have pretty eclectic tastes and I’d greatly appreciate it if some of you could take a couple of minutes to see who’s playing and say “Hey, I love those guys! Be sure to check ‘em out”.
Regardless of my current taste in music and considering the entertainment you all bring me with your own posts, listening to your recommendations is the least I can do for you.
Cheers.

Edit: Dear Anonymous, Paramore is not an option. Thank you.

The idea is that one event caters all, it’s a working formula that has lasted for years.
Although I have little interest in this year’s line-up, it’s saddening I’m splashing the cash on a select few artists featured in the line-up.

As for the rest of the line-up…

  1. The Libertines reforming is pretty sweet, provided that Pete Doherty actually shows up.
  2. Guns N’ Roses have and always will be nothing without Slash.
  3. Blink-182? Hmmm… sure, why not?
  4. Cypress Hill? Excellent! [And no I ain’t joking]

Everyone else, nothing spectacular as I’ve seen every other band before that’s on that list.

I’m tempted to sell my weekend ticket and just go for the Saturday (I really want to see Weezer live) but I shall wait for the Lock Up (Punk, Hardcore and Ska) stage before I can tell it’s gonna be a good year or not and make my decision.

Leeds/Reading Festival 2010 Line-up.
First impressions?: Ummm… Weezer’s playing Saturday. They haven’t visited the UK since Maladroit.

Gone For The Weekend

No Tumblr spam from me for the next 4 days I’m afraid.

You’ll all be missed I swear!

Later peeps.

Okay, before I go to bed, I’d like to point out the fact that Leeds Festival 2009 officially starts in one week for me. And like every year, I always plan out who I’m gonna see beforehand.
My only problem is that usually every year, there’ll be a band or artists I didn’t know before the event and then later discover that artist and find out that I missed the opportunity to see them live.
So this year I’m asking my fellow Tumblr peeps to give me a helping hand, as I’m gonna be mentioning it for the next week most likely.
If you see any artists you like on this poster, regardless if you’re unaware of my music taste (though you can check my Last.fm profile out if you’re interested) and if so, can you recommend them to me below?
